Good luck on the NYC marathon!! I’m currently training for the Honolulu marathon in December😅 I’m enjoying the energy waffles by stinger (they do make my mouth dry so have water in your vest). The salt stick gummies are good. Keep us updated on the gels. I haven’t found any that I’ve enjoyed yet.

woohoo ma! so proud of you going to the NYC marathon! you're gonna do AMAZING! Hear me out, have you tried baby food in the pouches? when i was trying gels out, i was disappointed to find that i couldn't find flavors or even brands that i loved. i was trying my best to do my race on a budget and frankly gels are expensive af. during my training i went to an athletic expo and actually got some gels for free to try and had some running friends who would share their gels. i'm also ingredient conscious so i read labels like a mad woman. i found that the gel i liked had their first ingredient as sweet potato so i took my happy butt to the grocery store and went to the baby section and tried out every baby food flavor that was sweet potato, oatmeal, rice, or even just regular potato based. these sat so well in my tummy and i didn't have to worry about crazy ingredients in my gels. the baby food was the foundation of my race fuel. i also supplemented with honey stinger energy chews and pedialyte for hydration. i also had nerds clusters and rice krispy treats as fun fuel but those also sat well in my tummy. i didn't use those a lot just sparingly. i always recommend baby food for the girliest asking me for race fuel and since i know you're a gut girlie i thought i'd weigh in! good luck at NYC , not that you need it!
